With a few minutes left in a shoot at the Body Electric Yoga Co., I was able to squeeze in some quick portraits and pose shots with a few in-house yoga teachers. Photos feature Alix Emery - Rocket Yogi and Health Coach, Andrea Behler - Arm Balance Master and Jewelry Creator, and Jennifer Rose - Gentle Yoga Instructor and Mudra Expert.
In partnership with the rapidly growing networking group New Town Connections, we photographed more than 60 individuals in about 2.5 hours, delivering 2 - 3 photos per guest. Participants mingled in the lobby of the iconic Station House co-working space in downtown St Pete and enjoyed food and beverages sponsored by local companies.
Connecting with Chanel for this session was as effortless as meeting a childhood friend for coffee. She shared her journey throughout this shoot, laughing at funny anecdotes and showing a sense of vulnerability rare in every sense of the word. She caused me to look at myself differently and the photos barely do justice the beauty of Chanel's soul.
The idea came to my mind that some folks might just need a single professional photo for their LinkedIn, a website bio, or for the back of their upcoming book jacket. I created an event in which each person received 5 - 8 photos, being photographed for about 6 - 8 minutes, and only paid a fraction of a traditional sitting fee. I was able to see 15+ people in the amount of time one session might take for a full portrait suite.
The RIDG creative facilitation team never ceases to amaze - their impressive client roster and unique business offerings include creating these "graphic recordings" of meetings happening in real time. Capturing this, as well as the high energy and individual personalities within the team made this a dynamic shoot, representative of their dynamic team.
